Pope Leo XIII (papacy 1878-1903) had a vision of Satan during Mass in October of 1884. He saw Satan approach the throne of God and negotiated for a period of time to have freedom to attack the Catholic Church. Satan said that he could destroy the Church. Our Lord asked him how much time he would need. Some accounts say that he answered with 50 or 60 years. Other accounts say it was a century. In the vision, Our Lord grants Satan this time to attack the Catholic Church to attempt to destroy it. Has that period of time just ended with the election of Pope Leo XIV?
Dr. Taylor Marshall has an excellent book titled Infiltration: The Plot to Destroy the Church from Within. In one of the chapters he details the accounts of Pope Leo XIII, and what transpired in this vision and the creation of the Leonine Prayers to St. Michael. The most famous of the prayers being:
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Dr. Marshall goes over the build up to these events, which began with the creation of socialism and the battle that began with it and the Catholic Church. The predecessor to Pope Leo XIII, Pope Pius IX, began to address and attack the evil of socialism with encyclical Nostis et nobiscum. Pope Leo XIII continued those attacks with multiple encyclicals condemning socialism, including Rerum Novarum.
Now clearly even with the Pope and the Catholic Church explicitly condemning socialism for the evil that it is, there are many inside the Church who embraced this evil and began attacking the Church and the Catholic Faith. Clearly there has been a considerable amount of time where evil has had much control inside the Church. So when did this century, or fifty-sixty years begin? And did we just witness the end of it with the papacy of Pope Leo XIV?
If Satan was given a century, then he would have been given control of those inside the Church who would serve him in 1925. So did anything happen in that year that could have signaled the beginning of this control of Satan?
Well indeed there were several events during this year that could have shown a change in control in the Church and world. Benito Mussolini declared himself dictator of Italy in this year. Adolph Hitler published his book Mein Kampf during this year. The Scopes Monkey Trial happened in this year. (This was a trial to fight to allow atheistic evolution to be taught in schools in America.) There was also a large amount of tensions in Mexico which erupted into the Cristero War, which was an open war between the atheist socialists and the Catholic Church.
It certainly shows that 1925 could be a good candidate for the beginning of the century of control that Satan was given over many in the Catholic Church.
But what if Satan was give 50-60 years instead? That would mean that this control began in 1965 or 1975. Well in 1965, the Vatican II council was ended. Now the Council itself taught nothing against the Catholic faith, but the documents of the Council were intentionally vague and not focused on doctrine or dogma. The Council was intentionally pastoral rather than doctrinal. That is why the Council issued zero anathemas and zero binding decrees. The chaos and destruction that rained down on the Catholic Church during this time was unprecedented.
Between these two years was also the implementation of the Novus Ordo Mass in the vernacular tongue. These were implemented without barely any controls and masses became a free-for-all throughout the world. Every new innovation and irreverent behavior was welcomed into the Mass and called part of the “Spirit of Vatican II” (although Vatican II explicitly called for the Mass to remain in Latin).
All of this is not to say that this is definitively the end of the century of control of Satan on many in the Catholic Church. It is only a hypothetical that is interesting to ponder over. It is doubly interesting when you consider that our current Pope, Leo XIV, specifically took his name because of Pope Leo XIII, and has mentioned that Rerum Novarum was one big reason for him. Rerum Novarum, as mentioned above, was a papal encyclical that condemned socialism. Isn’t that an interesting coincidence?

Yes, I am of the mind it began in 1925 and we are starting a period of healing. It won't all be at once. We also have to give Pope Leo grace as he's going to be imperfect, as all of us are, but he is doing some significant good already.
Good thoughts Red Pill. I’m hoping we don’t hear too much of the word “synodality”. And can someone please explain to whoever that the “climate change emergency” is a farce: a means to introduce the socialism (that is being condemned).
