A thought came to me at mass during the reading about this fishing miracle, tell me your thoughts. Peter and the crew were down on their luck but the catch that Jesus permitted made them quite wealthy, I presume. Maybe they were able to follow Jesus in part because they were able to leave their fishing jobs? and of course, they now completely believed in Jesus.

That is certainly plausible. Peter and Andrew's father owned multiple boats, and they were partners with James and John. So they had some prosperity at one point but certainly could have been in dire straits at this time. All four of these men did have enough wealth to spend considerable time following and being disciples of John the Baptist. But your theory is certainly possible. It certainly didn't hurt to have such a large amount of fish so that their father would have enough money for a while.
