Not just official security checks. Why wasn't he worried that a bystander with a gun, in Pennsylvania, in a small town, where people have and use guns, would see what he was up to and disrupt his plans? Why did the people who did see him wait for police? Standing not so far away, pointing at him, yelling for police... Why isn't everyone running to hide behind a tree until one brave bystander with a gun confronts him before police can get there? Is this not an obvious life-or-death situation? He could have been planning to fire randomly into the rally crowd and kill many innocent people, not Trump. Red visor guy with bright orange hair told us a story... Should we believe him? Why didn't anyone stop this potential "deadly rally shooting"?

The law abiding won't have guns for these events because Secret Service prevents them. Or at least is supposed to prevent them.
